- Aloha Tower stands tall and
majestic
- At the harbor of
Honolulu
-
- Your beacon light shines
bright
- Beaming with a beautful
glow
-
- It's you that keeps a careful
watch and
- Maintains the accurate time for
the town
-
- Your function is to welcome
The visitors that gather here
- Here now the refrain with
peace

Source: - In 1924, construction began on
Aloha Tower, a 10-story skyscraper, at the cost of $190,000. It was
completed in a year and a half and became the landmark of
Honolulu. The 4 clocks, each face 12 feet in diameter and
facing different directions, were made of bronze and weighed
7 tons each. The beacon could be seen 20 miles out at sea.
This was composed in 1928 to honor Aloha Tower. Translater unknown. Hawaiian Text edited by Puakea Nogelmeier |
