Source: "Our Hawaiʻi" by Bob Krauss - Poopooly is a play on the Hawaiian word pupule. Written for Carmen Joyce, a Ziegfield Follies chorus girl who arrived in Hawaiʻi 1924, age 26, to dance in the chorus line of a show booked in the Princess Theater.
